Will work and protest together

On September 27 Lithuania service workers trade union (LPSDPS) Chairman Aleksandras Posochovas and United trade union leader Arvydas Dambrauskas signed a cooperation agreement. It is noted there that the two organizations will co-operate seeking better working conditions for cultural workers, coordinate positions in cooperation with the Ministry of Culture.

The Ministry received a report that the cultural trade union representation is established, which will prepare branch collective agreement.
In the agreement also joint actions are foreseen, if it fails to achieve their objectives, such as, actions, preparation for industrial labour disputes and the Strike Committee.
A. Posochovas see this as a major step forward. "Despite the fact that we, as leaders have different understanding, and our activities strategies are sometimes different, but we are unified by common objectives. Knowing that in Lithuania trade union density is less than 20 percent, the niche is really wide and we all fit in there" – notes he.
LPSDPS Chairman looks forward, that after signing this agreement it will encourage other branches organizations move closer to relative trade unions, which would reduce the possibility of occasional confrontation. "Personality issues we should forget, it must to be seen how help the people of Lithuania " - taught Mr. Posochovas. He adds that, on 29 September campaign at the Ministry of Culture representatives from both trade unions will participate in a piquet.
