Ridas Pagrandis re-elected for one term

On September 27 Ridas Pagrandis in the annual congress of Security Company 'G4S Lithuania' trade union was elected as a chairman for another one-year term.
At the congress Evaldas Butenas, the chairman Siauliai region of 'G4S Lithuania' trade union was elected as 'G4S Lithuania' European Works Councils representative.
The union found that the Lithuanian employer delegated a person to represent workers to EWC at its own discretion, without the election.
Despite the tension in winter between the company's trade union and the employer (currently are pending in the court as much as 5 cases of illegal dismissal of employees) in summer was signed quite good collective agreement. "At the very least not undermined the conditions for the employees - says the Lithuanian service sector workers' trade union chairman Aleksandras Posochovas. - Especially since such a possibility in the most recent amendments to the Labour Code foreseen. Wage increases related to work seniority were frozen only for a year."
Although G4S Lithuania company has a high turnover of staff, but union membership is quite stable - around 300 members.
