Drivers' trade union conference was held

The conference opened the trade union chairman Ramunas Narbutas. Lithuanian Trade Union Confederation President Arturas Černiauskas made the report on the national agreement and legislation governing the employment relationship. Lithuanian service workers' trade union chairman Aleksandras Posochovas talked about Implementation of the EU Services Directive and the trade union position on this issue. State Labor Inspectorate Kaunas Branch inspector Remigijus Remeika presented laws governing the transport work characteristics.

After the conference separate meetings of trade union enterprises were held: R. Narbutas was elected UAB "Finėjas' union chairman, new primary union organisation UAB " Romas & Ko” established.

Later organized Lithuanian service workers' trade union representatives meeting in the transport sector, approved R. Narbutas as chairman.

Trade union members individually consulted by a lawyer Jovita Jančauskienė.

Trade unionists also urged colleagues to sign the petition "NO to drivers discrimination paying only 50 percent per diem”.

Discussions were made about the possible Vilnius bus and trolleybus drivers strike.
